次、傍乘義辨外分壞成，初結前問後；二、對問解釋。釋中有二：初、總明成壞；第二、云何火災已下，別辨成壞。前中復四，初、明成壞由眾生業，二、明三災劫壞處所，三、明壞空成住，名二十劫為一大劫，四、辨梵世壽量有三，謂由諸有情所作。

Next, by way of supplementary meaning, the destruction and formation of the external domain are analyzed. First, it concludes what preceded and questions what follows; second, it responds to the question and explains. Within the explanation there are two parts: first, a general explanation of formation and destruction; second, from "How is there the fire disaster..." downward, a particular analysis of formation and destruction. Within the former part there are again four: first, explaining that formation and destruction stem from the karma of sentient beings; second, explaining the locations of destruction by the three disasters and kalpas; third, explaining destruction, emptiness, formation, and abiding, designating twenty kalpas as one great kalpa; fourth, analyzing that the lifespans in the Brahmā world are three, meaning they are produced by [the karma] done by sentient beings.
