In re-explaining identical location: the great elements and derived forms rely on the same single location, being produced directly from that substance to form a single entity, without separate subtle atoms dwelling in two locations. This largely agrees with other schools in that types dwell distinctly; nor is it like that commingling, which, although sharing one location, does not form a single entity. The Tripiṭaka Master says: The four great elements of retributive result and the seven derived dharmas mutually interpenetrate like the light of lamps, and even the four great elements and seven derived forms of nutriment also interpenetrate—this is non-separation of identical location. The two kinds of great elements of retributive result and nutriment, along with what they produce, do not interpenetrate—this is non-separation of commingling. If a location already has the great elements and derived forms of nutriment, later-arriving great elements and derived forms of nutriment cannot enter into them; however, one set of great elements that can produce odor and so forth can also interpenetrate.
