1.89

泰法師云：八地已去，體唯取修慧，義說聞思，聞思唯有漏。又即修慧，外聞名聞，內思名思，修證名修。與聞思相似，借彼名故，說為聞思。聞慧聞思唯有漏。

Master Tai says: "From the eighth stage onward, its substance takes exclusively the wisdom arisen from cultivation, and it is nominally designated as hearing and thinking; hearing and thinking are exclusively tainted. Moreover, it is just the wisdom arisen from cultivation: hearing externally is called 'hearing', reflecting internally is called 'thinking', and cultivation and realization are called 'cultivation'. Because it resembles hearing and thinking, borrowing their names, it is spoken of as hearing and thinking. The wisdom of hearing and [the wisdom of] thinking are exclusively tainted."
