上來菩提分持有十六品，已辨五品是所學法分。種姓品是學方法，從此向下有其十品，是能學行兼有所學。

The preceding Bodhipakṣa-saṃskṛtadharmoddhāra contains sixteen chapters; five chapters have already been distinguished as the section on the dharmas to be learned. The Chapter on Gotra was the method of learning. From here downward there are ten chapters, which are the practices capable of learning together with what is to be learned.
