基云：戒是防非之異名。言惡戒者，惡體非尸羅，惡於尸羅名惡尸羅，若爾亦應惡體非是見，惡出見故名惡見，解即不然，種求以解是善惡並推求，清涼名尸羅，尸羅求惡體。

Ji says: "A precept is an alternative name for preventing wrong. As for 'evil precepts,' the essence of evil is not *śīla*; being evil in relation to *śīla*, it is called 'evil *śīla*.' If so, the essence of evil should also not be a view, and being an evil that emerges from a view it is called 'evil view.' The explanation is that this is not so: investigating types in terms of understanding, understanding investigates both good and evil; coolness is called *śīla*, and *śīla* seeks the essence of evil."
