言二因緣故，離諸惡作者，泰云：一、從他正受；二、意樂清淨，以為因緣故後不生悔也。測有四釋，一云，二、受為一緣；二、持為一緣。二云：即以二持為二緣。三云：慚愧為二因緣；二受為二緣。四云：二受為二因；慚愧為二緣。雖有多釋，今取即以二持為二緣，為順文相之釋也。

Regarding "due to two causes and conditions, being free from all remorse," Tai says: "First, correctly receiving from another; second, purity of aspiration—taking these as causes and conditions, remorse does not arise later." Ce gives four explanations: First, taking the two receptions as one condition, and the two upholdings as one condition. Second: taking precisely the two upholdings as the two conditions. Third: taking shame and remorse as the two causes and conditions, and the two receptions as two conditions. Fourth: taking the two receptions as two causes, and shame and remorse as two conditions. Although there are multiple explanations, we now take precisely the two upholdings as the two conditions, as an explanation that accords with the textual phrasing.
