Fifth, out of persistent grudge not receiving precious treasures given by another also obstructs the other's giving. Regarding 'natural color and dyeable': gold is called 'natural color' because it does not change from beginning to end; silver is called 'dyeable' because it can be dyed and changed. 'Or afterward knowing that the other is confused regarding giving' means that the other does not wish to give, but merely due to confusion erroneously performs giving, and so forth. 'Receiving whenever given' means that the donor greatly delights in giving and gives away whatever wealth he obtains; if one receives it whenever given, the donor will definitely become destitute because of this; therefore, refusing and not receiving is not an offense. A stūpa is translated here as an 'elevated and supreme place'.
