Herein there are three parts: the first single chapter explains the fundamental skillful means for gathering learning; next, there are nine chapters on engaging conditions to properly learn; the final single chapter is on attaining qualities through learning. Now, however, it is not so: the third, the 'Holder of Learning', has sixteen chapters; the first five chapters discriminate the stations of learning, primarily explaining what is to be learned while concurrently including the person capable of learning, without yet explaining how one should learn. The sixth single chapter properly discriminates practicing how one should learn in this way, and the remaining ten chapters properly explain the one capable of learning, primarily explaining the practice of the one capable of learning while concurrently including the teachings to be learned. Therefore, the beginning of the 'Holder of Learning' says: 'If with respect to the stations of learning one explains learning in this way, one is capable of cultivating learning.' Thus there are three topics. If based on the first chapter below, there is immediately the introductory text: 'If with respect to the stations of learning'; after explaining the five chapters, coming to this Chapter on the Gotra of Powers, there is again the introductory text: 'If learning in this way', explaining the conclusion of the previous six chapters.
