10.378

言不太沈及不太舉者，由太沈故違犯於戒，設生慚愧亦復微薄。今遠離之，由太舉故，非應悔處，而生悔愧故，今亦遠離。

Regarding 'neither too depressed nor too elevated': Due to being too depressed, one violates the precepts, and even if shame and remorse arise, they are also weak. Now this is kept far away. Due to being too elevated, one generates regret and shame where one ought not to repent; now this is also kept far away.
