對境情安名之為忍，此品廣明，故云忍品。文中，初問；次釋；後結歎功能。釋中有二：初、開九章；二、依章釋。

Remaining calm when confronting circumstances is called patience. As this chapter extensively clarifies it, it is called the Chapter on Patience. In the text, first there is a question; next, the explanation; and finally, the concluding praise of its functions. Within the explanation there are two parts: first, positing nine headings; second, explaining them according to the headings.
