Under 'essential nature', regarding the phrase 'either having the power of reflective consideration as its support, etc.', Jing says: Down to 'enduring the hostility and harm of others', this is the essence of patience toward injuries inflicted by others. Being able to endure in the face of all instruments of suffering is why it says 'pervasive toward all'. Being able to endure in the face of all persons such as enemies is why it says 'universal toward all'. Following this textual flow, it specifically explains injuries inflicted by others; or alternatively, 'the power of reflective consideration, etc.' clarifies patience toward injuries inflicted by others, 'pervasive toward all' onward clarifies patience in accepting suffering, and 'universal toward all' onward clarifies patience of reflective comprehension.
