十力前行智者，即無生智。有無生智者，根性最利能得十力，名十力前行智。四道理中，正道理智者，即四諦智也，於四諦理中正遍知也。泰云：知諸法相名相智，十力前方便智名十力前加行。

The knowledge preceding the ten powers is the knowledge of non-arising. Those with the knowledge of non-arising have the sharpest faculties and are able to attain the ten powers, hence it is called the knowledge preceding the ten powers. Among the four reasonings, the knowledge of correct reasoning is the knowledge of the four noble truths, which is correct and thorough knowledge within the principle of the four noble truths. Tai says: Knowing the characteristics of phenomena is called characteristic knowledge; the preparatory expedient knowledge before the ten powers is called the preliminary practice before the ten powers.
