舊遠師云：前三如上，神通智者，六神通智。相智者，是法智相也。十力方便，是十力因，亦可用巧故名方便事。具足智者，四無畏智。舊論云：事具足，今云四道理智。

Master Huiyuan of old said: The first three are as above. Supernormal knowledge is the knowledge of the six supernormal powers. Characteristic knowledge is the characteristic of dharma knowledge. Expedient of the ten powers is the cause of the ten powers; it can also be called expedient tasks because of using skill. Knowledge endowed with tasks is the knowledge of the four fearlessnesses. The old treatise calls it 'endowment with tasks'; the present translation calls it 'knowledge of the four reasonings'.
