Ji says: this means that this mantra has no meaning, but only a name. This refers to a bodhisattva before the stages (bhūmis) reciting this meaningless mantra to personally eliminate conceptual grasping, [realizing]: 'This is only a name; where is there any meaning?' Hence one knows that all phenomena have only falsely conceptualized names without any truly grasped referent; therefore one must not give rise to grasping based on names. Through this contemplation, one is then able to enter true observation and realize bodhisattva patience.
