The sixty-four classes of sentient beings are as explained in the Manobhūmi, though there are slight differences from the Prakaraṇāryavācāśāstra. According to the old treatise, it says sixty-one classes of sentient beings. 'Sahā': this translates as endurance. Among the gate of groups of seven in the immeasurable realms of those to be subdued, the old treatise says: 'Evil persons, intermediate persons, persons of lesser wisdom, persons of great wisdom, currently subdued, subdued in the future, subdued according to superiority, if obtaining conditions directing thus and thus'; this treatise says 'those who disparage,' and so forth.
