迦肆娑者，青黑礬石也，舊論云迦私娑藥，地論云：礬石，以金體有微細垢故置礬石除之。

As for *kāsīsa*, it is dark green vitriol. The old treatise calls it the medicine *kāsīsa*, and the *Daśabhūmika-śāstra* calls it 'vitriol'; because the substance of gold has subtle defilements, vitriol is applied to remove them.
