Regarding the five sufferings: first, famine; second, illness; third, weapons and warfare; fourth, hostile enemies; fifth, punishment. As for the statement that by holding the power of efficacious spells and dhāraṇīs one assumes the body of a great king of medicine and so forth: through the power of vows and further through the power of spells, one assumes a physical body whose upper and lower limbs are all turned into fine medicine, dividing and giving them to others to eliminate their epidemics.
