Regarding the surpassing [birth], Ji says: this means that in the first abiding one becomes: 1. a deva king; 2. in the abiding [of the ruler] of the four continents, up to the eighth where one is the king of a small-thousand world system. In the ninth, one is the lord of a two-thousand world system. In the tenth, the bodhisattva is born in the Maheśvara heaven, which is a pure land. In actuality, it lies between the lower two realms; because one is born through taintless karma, it is called the 'ultimate summit'. This is discussed based on not yet having attained the full enjoyment of the dharma realm.
