釋第一行中有三番，釋初云前說六種波羅蜜多等者，前說六度品也。其方便等四是前六助伴，此為一番。言如前說十二行相方便善巧者，謂如前菩提分法品中明內六外六十二種善巧也。五種大願並如彼品，其實十願，據勝者論故云前五也。十力方便，如力種姓品也。

In explaining the first practice, there are three rounds. In the initial explanation, where it says 'The six pāramitās previously explained and so forth': this refers to the previous Chapter on the Six Pāramitās. The four including means and so on are the companions of the previous six; this is the first round. The words 'As previously explained, the twelve aspects of skillful means': this refers to the twelve kinds of skillfulness—six internal and six external—explained previously in the Chapter on the Factors Leading to Awakening. The five great vows are also as in that chapter; in actuality there are ten vows, but being discussed based on the superior ones, it says the 'first five'. The means of the ten powers are as in the Chapter on Gotra and Powers.
