First, listing the names and numbers: based on the various sūtras and treatises, the determination of the marks of a great man is not uniform; for now, comparing with the expansive treatise (*Yogācārabhūmi*), we briefly state the combinations and separations. The expansive treatise divides the foot into the heel and the instep as two marks: fourth, the Buddha's heels are round, long, well-proportioned, and straight; seventh, the instep is high and well-proportioned, its two sides straight and matching the heel. It also divides one hair per pore into two marks: eleventh, one hair grows from each pore; twelfth, the body hairs spiral to the right. Twentieth, full and rounded shoulders, which combines the shoulders into one mark. Eighteenth, the body is broad, vast, and straight, which combines the body being unbent and being vast and straight into one mark. It also divides the twenty-second mark into two marks: twenty-third, possessing forty teeth; twenty-fourth, the teeth are even and closely set; twenty-fifth, the canine teeth are pure white and luminous, which combines the twenty-third and twenty-fourth marks of this treatise into one.
