景師云：如有一人故往禮菩提樹及以布施，有人不知，即用金銀買取彼人禮菩提樹布施功德。又有人言雖買不得，種種諍論。今佛業力降伏此等巧知諸業，自作自受無買賣事。

Master Jing says: "For instance, suppose someone intentionally went to pay homage to the Bodhi tree and practice giving; someone who did not understand would then use gold and silver to buy that person's merit of paying homage to the Bodhi tree and giving. Still another person said that although bought, it could not be obtained, sparking various disputes. Now the Buddha's power of karma subdues these [disputes], skillfully knowing all karmas: one creates them oneself and experiences them oneself, and there is no buying and selling."
