This can be known by reference to the concluding text below. In the explanation, there are thirteen sections. In the first, stating 'namely, all bodhisattvas... up to their marks should be known', according to the *Daśabhūmika Sūtra*, it says: 'one enters the fourth stage by ten illuminations of the Dharma; what are the ten... up to speaking in detail.' The commentary in the *Daśabhūmika-śāstra* explains: 'entry through the illumination of the Dharma' means attaining the light of realization of the stage, and entering through the light of that wisdom into the Dharma taught by the Tathāgata; that wisdom is named 'entry through the illumination of the Dharma'; because one correctly contemplates, reflects on, and truly knows the conformity with the two spheres of the Dharma taught by him, this reflection has ten distinctions: reflecting and discriminating the distinctions in designations of sentient beings, as the sūtra says: 'entry through the illumination of reflecting on the realm of sentient beings'; discriminating based on the world, as the sūtra says: 'entry through the illumination of reflecting on the container world'; discriminating based on affliction, as the sūtra says: 'entry through the illumination of reflecting on the realm of phenomena'; discriminating based on inexhaustibility, as the sūtra says: 'entry through the illumination of reflecting on the realm of space'; discriminating based on the locus of affliction and purity, as the sūtra says: 'entry through the illumination of reflecting on the realm of consciousness'; discriminating based on affliction through underlying tendencies of defilement, as the sūtra says: 'entry through the illumination of reflecting on the desire, form, and formless realms'; discriminating based on purity, as the sūtra says: 'entry through the illumination of reflecting on the realm of resolute faith of the superior mind', and 'entry through the illumination of reflecting on the realm of resolute faith of the great mind'.
