基云：若於不善無記法中無顛倒智知而不作是一切種智，若知善而作名妙智，前似後得智後言正智，其實無分別智不觀不善等法但作善觀故唯是妙智，其後得智是一切種妙智，又後得智二種皆有正智不然。

Ji says: 'Non-erroneous knowledge regarding unwholesome and indeterminate dharmas, knowing them without performing them, is the knowledge of all modes; knowing what is wholesome and performing it is called excellent knowledge. The former resembles subsequent knowledge, while the latter is called correct knowledge. In truth, non-conceptual knowledge does not contemplate unwholesome and other dharmas, but only performs wholesome contemplation, so it is solely excellent knowledge; its subsequent knowledge is the excellent knowledge of all modes. Furthermore, subsequent knowledge possesses both, whereas correct knowledge does not.'
