第四持次第瑜伽處者，菩薩地有四瑜伽處中，初瑜伽內明種姓發心及行方便合有十八品，是所學法。第二隨法瑜伽，明能學之行者，其四品，謂相分、意樂、住行。第三究竟瑜伽，是行成得果，是瑜伽之果，有五品謂生攝地行建立，今第四持更無別，但辨向前二十七品，及菩薩品內法門前後次第，故云第四持次第瑜伽處。

Regarding the fourth, the Yogic Ground of the Sequence of Holds: among the four yogic grounds in the Bodhisattvabhūmi, the first yogic ground explains gotra, generating the mind, and the preparatory practices, totaling eighteen chapters, which are the dharmas to be learned. The second, the yogic ground of conformity to Dharma, explains the practitioner capable of learning, which has four chapters, namely: the aspect of marks, intention, and dwelling in practice. The third, the yogic ground of culmination, is the attainment of the fruit upon the completion of practice, which is the fruition of yoga; it has five chapters, namely: birth, gathering, stages, conduct, and establishment. Now the fourth hold is nothing else; it merely discerns the sequence of before and after of the preceding twenty-seven chapters and the Dharma-gates within the Bodhisattva chapter, which is why it is called 'the fourth, the Yogic Ground of the Sequence of Holds'.
