通曰：此約自證分為論，不約見分；若約見分，即通緣器界也。故簡無色不緣但在內根等文中，不在外器等文中，故知外器亦得緣也。

The resolution states: This is discussed in terms of the self-witnessing aspect, not in terms of the seeing-aspect; if discussed in terms of the seeing-aspect, it inclusively has the container world as an intentional object. Therefore, the exclusion of the formless realm as not taking [it] as an intentional object occurs only in the passages on internal sense faculties, not in the passages on the external container and so forth; hence we know that the external container can also be taken as an intentional object.
