Regarding the words 'undifferentiated aspect of the vessel,' one explanation says: The external vessel transformed by the ālaya of all sentient beings at one time and one place is a non-differentiated appearance, being the same single vessel; hence it is called 'undifferentiated.' Another explanation says: The power of common karma within the ālayavijñāna induces a single wind at the place where one dwells; since there is no meaning of enjoyment with respect to other worlds, the transformed appearance of the vessel is uninterrupted, hence it is called 'undifferentiated.' It may also be called 'undifferentiated' because it is not sentient beings; although its faculties, sense objects, etc., do not differentiate, because they are subsumed under sentient beings, they are called 'differentiated.'
