Fifth, clarifying the bondage to the three realms: the absorption without thought and the retribution of no-thought are bound solely to the form realm. When the three—names, phrases, and syllables—are tainted, they are bound to the desire and form realms; when untainted, they are unentangled. Ordinary-personhood is bound to all three realms. The absorption of cessation is solely unentangled. The life-faculty and generic similarity encompass being bound to the three realms and being unentangled. When the remaining fifteen are tainted, they are bound to the three realms; when untainted, they are unentangled. If based on Ji's explanation: direction belongs solely to the form realm. The analysis of the five gates is concluded.
