On the passage stating, "If it were the cause that prevents these phenomena from dispersing... it would even have to become manifest all at once": Jing says: Because in the Hīnayāna school the six consciousnesses do not operate simultaneously and within a single mind the three natures do not arise together, this objection is formulated. A thesis should be stated: When a wholesome mind arises, minds of the other two natures should conjoin and arise together with it, because there is a cause, just like the wholesome mind; and when an unrecorded mind arises, minds of the other two natures must arise together with it, because there is a cause, just like the unrecorded mind. These preceding two lines correspond to the maturation of seeds.
