In the second part, on explaining the impairment and subduing of seeds, there are four clauses of impairment and subduing. (Jing says:) First, constantly habituating defilements. Second, generally taking all views as wrong views, like the non-Buddhists. Third, habituating wrong views that can sever the roots of wholesomeness; this passage does not speak of the wrong view that slanders suffering and origin, because wrong views under all four truths equally sever the roots of wholesomeness. Fourth, through the vajropamasamādhi, permanently destroying defiled seeds, which together with meritorious wholesomeness cannot draw retribution; this is called 'impairment and subduing'.
