第一生起所作次第中，先說色蘊次說識蘊者，眼色為緣即是色蘊，能生眼識即是識蘊，由色及識為依受想行等心法生，依此次第即說色識受想行如此次第也。

In the first sequence, of arising and functioning, form aggregate is stated first and consciousness aggregate next: the eye and form as conditions are precisely the form aggregate; being able to generate eye-consciousness is precisely the consciousness aggregate. With form and consciousness as the support, mental factors such as feeling, perception, and formations arise. Based on this sequence, it is said that form, consciousness, feeling, perception, and formations follow such a sequence.
