14.303

言由如是等雖無自性；然有其界等者，前破小乘於彼石中有水火事。今明於堅石中有水火等種子各有其界，故無過也。

Regarding the statement 'Although through such [conditions] they lack an intrinsic nature, yet their elements (dhātu) exist', and so forth: Previously, the Hīnayāna view that water and fire actually exist in that stone was refuted. Now it explains that within hard stone there are seeds of water, fire, and so forth, each possessing its own element (dhātu); therefore there is no fault.
