基云：隨彼種子因增上力故如是而生為有根之取用故，所以如此。又隨四大生因增上力故，造色團雜如是而生為根有，眼等取時諸塵皆有。於是聚中有是用故，知諸色團雜而生。此明和雜不相離。

Ji says: It is through the predominant force of those seed-causes that they arise in this way, for the sake of the apprehension and use by those possessing sense faculties; this is why it is so. Furthermore, through the predominant force of the generative causes of the four great elements, derived matter arises clumped and intermixed in this way so that it exists for the faculties; when the eye and so forth apprehend, all the dusts exist. Because there is this function within this aggregate, one knows that the various forms arise clumped and intermixed. This explains 'inseparable intermixture'.
