五、明空界，三藏云：準此空界，則明闇色。景云：若依西方，但就意識緣太虛空所現分上假立空界色。常闇明者，二世界中間住處常闇，諸天常明。

Fifth, explaining the space realm. The Tripiṭaka Master says, "According to this space realm, it is form consisting of light and darkness." Jing says, "If one relies on the Western [masters], space realm form is merely provisionally established upon the aspect manifested by mental consciousness taking empty space as an object. As for 'constant darkness and light': the dwelling places intermediate between two world realms are constantly dark, and the various heavens are constantly bright."
