Regarding "moreover, form produced by superior concentration relies solely on superior concentration and does not rely on the great elements, and so forth": Jing says, "Form possessing mastery through concentration is not created by the four great elements. However, the preceding text saying that it is created by the great elements bound to that same realm was spoken with reference to those great elements and the concentrated form both arising dependent on concentration, so it was said to be created by them. Just as the initial mind in concentration contemplates concentrated form and then further induces nourishing great elements, which, bound together to the first dhyāna, arise simultaneously, it is also like this: just as in a distracted mind one takes a blue mat as an expedient means, and from this enters concentration, performs a contemplation of blue, and manifests a blue image termed concentrated form; just as one takes the blue mat, because this concentrated form is of the same category as the blue mat previously seen, it is said to be created by the great elements of the mat, acting as that upon which it arises."
