Eighth, explaining visible, resistant, and other characteristics among forms. Form subsumed under the realm of phenomena possesses both being invisible and non-resistant. While in the Hīnayāna the realm of phenomena comprises only unmanifest form, which would be acceptable, here in the Mahāyāna it was said earlier that the realm of phenomena has real form that can be used by others. Why is it invisible and non-resistant? Because form transformed from the concentrated mind is truly subtle, does not occupy space, and is not created by karma, how could it be resistant? The forms and so forth of the form realm all occupy space, and thus are not analogous. Here, if it is for the use of others, it is seen by the visual consciousness and should be subsumed under the form realm; why then say it belongs to the realm of phenomena?
