問：如何以現行思為定共戒體，有人言此種上立，應於前加行道中思種上建立，如發別解脫戒思取前加行思判業故，此未成釋，如定道前加行道皆非是定道戒，是散心或他地界繫，如何隨加行以判戒體？

Question: How can active volition be the essence of the precept concurrent with concentration? Someone says: Established upon its seeds, it should be established upon the seeds of volition in the preceding path of preliminary practice, just as the volition generating the prātimokṣa precept takes the volition of the preceding preliminary practice to determine the karma. This does not constitute an explanation: since the preliminary practices prior to concentration and the path are neither the precepts of concentration nor of the path, but are scattered minds or bound to other stages and realms, how could the essence of the precept be determined according to the preliminary practice?
