In the first part, each of those four truths has four aspects; the four aspects of the truth of suffering serve to counteract the four inversions, and so forth. Jing says: The first single aspect counteracts the first inversion, in that impermanence counteracts the inversion of permanence; the next single aspect counteracts the next two inversions, in that the aspect of suffering counteracts the inversion of pleasure, for once one knows it is suffering, one knows it is impure, which also counteracts the remaining inversion of purity; the last two aspects counteract the last inversion, in that the aspects of emptiness and non-self together counteract the inversion of self.
