基云：外救云：何許此貪與心俱，如緣可愛境時初念名識第二名貪，後貪染初念心何妨？今破云：差別因緣不可得故，緣一可愛境故。

Ji said: The opponent rescues [his position], saying: “Why must this greed be concurrent with the mind? For instance, when taking an agreeable object as cognitive object, the first moment is called consciousness, and the second is called greed. What prevents the subsequent greed from defiling the mind of the first moment?” Now it is refuted, saying: “Because distinct causal conditions cannot be obtained, since they take one agreeable object as cognitive object.”
