In the first part, the opponent subsequently cites scripture himself to raise an objection: If there are separate mental factors apart from the primary mind, why does the sūtra say that the six elements of the four great elements, space, and consciousness constitute a sentient being, without speaking of mental factors? Therefore, repeating it now entails no fallacy. Thus it states that although the sūtra says that such six elements are called a person, yet because it was spoken with implicit intent, there is no fallacy. Below it inquires into the implicit intent, answering that it intended to show the supreme supports of form, movement, and mental dharmas. That is, among the six elements, the four great elements are the support of derived form, space is the support of movement's coming and going, and consciousness is the mental support of mental factors—it only speaks of the supports.
