In the treatise master's counter-objection, Jing said: The sūtras state three analogies; could it be that apart from what is posited there are no other analogies? In some places, they combine the four great elements and consider them to be the self; could it be that apart from the four great elements there is no other derived [form]? In some places, there are material beings born of mind; relying on this sūtra, could there be only form and mind, these two? In some places, immaterial beings are born of conception; like this, could it be that they are born solely of conception? In this way the sūtra speaks of six bases; could it be that outside of the six there are no remaining mental factors and the like?
