七明執受及非執受。景云：五、執受者，五根。五、執受非執受者，五塵。不離根者，為識執。離根則非執受。

Seventh, [the text] explains what is appropriated and what is not appropriated. Jing says: The five that are appropriated are the five faculties. The five that are both appropriated and not appropriated are the five sense objects: those not separated from the faculties are appropriated by consciousness; when separated from the faculties, they are not appropriated.
