六、明見聞等體，景云：約勝義道理，六根六識從緣生，念念不注滅，無有作用，云何能見乃至能知？約諸有為相續理中，說有作用則眼等根。

Sixth, explaining the substance of seeing, hearing, and so forth. Jing says: In terms of ultimate truth, the six faculties and six consciousnesses arise from conditions, ceasing from moment to moment without abiding, possessing no agency; how could they be able to see, up to being able to know? In terms of the principle of continuity among conditioned dharmas, they are said to have agency, which is the eye and the other faculties.
