Under the section on objects, there are six propositions of greed. Tai says: The term 'greed' means that because unobtained objects do not exist, the greedy mind manifests the aspect of the object on its own and clings to it; this is not like desiring an object that possesses an intrinsic characteristic in the past or present, and so it is called 'greed for greed.' 'Covering greed' means that toward past objects previously enjoyed one gives rise to yearning attachment; because already enjoyed objects are heavy and possess the meaning of covering over, it is called 'covering greed.' Present objects last only briefly and future ones have not yet arisen, so unlike the past they are not called 'covering greed.' Having and having no feeling corresponds to the greed of the two views to be severed.
