今準唯識護法正義，純苦處意地有苦，何妨苦根亦緣無色，但微劣故，不緣過未。

Now, following the standard doctrine of Dharmapāla in Vijñaptimātratā: in places of pure pain, the mental stage has pain; what prevents the pain faculty from also taking the formless as its cognitive object? Only because it is faint and weak, it does not take the past and future as its cognitive objects.
