第四辨命根中，有五句等，餘有命者住，故名為住。由彼命根增上勢力蘊相續轉，故名為持。
Fourth, in distinguishing the life faculty, there are five clauses and so forth. Other living beings abide, hence it is called 'abiding.' Due to the predominant influence of that life faculty, the aggregates continue to roll on, hence it is called 'holding.'
