Another explanation says: The patience with all enemy harm means simply that whenever one meets an enemy, one endures. The patience with all causes means giving rise to patience when a cause for an enemy to arise wishes to cause harm. Receiving instruction constitutes the eighth, because one endures in accordance with the instruction of another. One's own reflection being capable of endurance constitutes the ninth, generating the nature of cultivated patience. Patience with one's own enemy harm constitutes the tenth; or someone who receives instruction to bring about endurance of the loss of life is called patience with enemy harm through receiving instruction; or when another, through good reflection, comes wishing to harm oneself, this is called patience through the power of discernment. 'Self-nature' means by its fundamental nature being capable of harm.
