下別釋，先反解四調，謂乃至令不縱逸者，由聞思慧簡擇得失，於境制根，是一因緣。

Below, the distinct explanations: first, explaining the four [aspects of] taming in reverse order: 'up to causing them not to be unrestrained' means that through the wisdom of hearing and thinking, distinguishing benefit and harm, one restrains the faculties in relation to objects; this is the first cause and condition.
