三、明覺品攝信等五根，五根不攝覺品中，六謂八正中正語業命，七覺支中喜安捨，開或為三，謂正語業命，添喜安捨為一，足喜安捨即但有四。若爾，八正中正思惟，於信等五根何根中攝，而文不說？

Third, explaining that the factors of awakening subsume the five faculties of faith and so forth, while the five faculties do not subsume six among the factors of awakening: namely right speech, right action, and right livelihood among the eightfold right [path], and joy, pliancy, and equanimity among the seven limbs of awakening. Expanding or combining them into three, namely right speech, right action, and right livelihood, adding joy, pliancy, and equanimity as one, or together with joy, pliancy, and equanimity, there are only four. If so, under which faculty among the five faculties of faith and so forth is right thought among the eightfold right [path] subsumed, while the text does not state it?
