三種念住，非根所攝等者，如來畏中有聞佛說心生歡喜，佛心無貪，聞說生謗，佛心無瞋，或有一眾亦信亦謗，佛心二等俱無貪瞋，於此三眾平等無二故，以信等五根及具知根所引無貪無瞋二善為性，無癡或通或局唯於處中者生故。

As for 'the three types of mindfulness are not subsumed by faculties, etc.': in the assemblies gathered before the Tathāgata, there are those who hear what the Buddha says and rejoice in their minds, toward whom the Buddha's mind is without greed; those who hear what he says and give rise to slander, toward whom the Buddha's mind is without anger; or there is an assembly that both believes and slanders, toward whom the Buddha's mind is equally free from both greed and anger. Because he is impartial and non-dual toward these three assemblies, they take as their nature the two wholesomenesses of non-greed and non-anger induced by the five faculties of faith and the rest and by the faculty of the one who has fully known. Non-delusion either applies generally or is restricted, since it arises only toward those in the middle.
