二、約一多依分別諸根。或一有一依者，謂彼同分根依四大也。二依者，謂同分根依四大自分識二依也。三依者，謂意根及無色心法根在有色界有三依。一、依色；二、依意；三、依心法根乃至賴耶。亦依色及種子意根，現行心法根，無色界唯依意及心法二根也。

Second, differentiating the faculties in terms of single or multiple supports. 'Or some have one support' refers to the tat-sabhāga faculty depending on the four great elements. 'Two supports' refers to the sabhāga faculty depending on two: the four great elements and its corresponding consciousness. 'Three supports' refers to the mind-faculty and the faculties of formless mental dharmas having three supports in the form realm: first, dependence on matter; second, dependence on mind; third, dependence on the faculties of mental dharmas up to the ālayavijñāna. It also depends on matter and the seeds of the mind-faculty, as well as the active faculties of mental dharmas; in the formless realm, they depend solely on the two faculties of mind and mental dharmas.
